Introducing Podcast Ads in Pathmatics (Plus 6 Stats To Get You Started)

Podcast ads are now available in Pathmatics, allowing you to track spend and impressions data for thousands of new creatives. Keep reading to learn exactly what benefits this feature brings to your brand.

Podcast Ads

From Dax Shepard to Ashley Flowers, podcasts are a multibillion dollar industry in 2026. And more and more brands are seeking to capture the attention of the engaged, educated consumers who listen to them. With the introduction of podcast ads to Pathmatics, you can now track the full range of how companies distribute spend.

Podcast Ads 2 - Spend distribution

Brands with the most impressions on podcast-run creatives (2026 YTD, United States).

Not only will you be able to identify the top advertisers spending money on podcast commercials, but you’ll also drill down into specific ads to see their duration and listen to the creative itself. Details like which podcast hosts a brand partners with can tell you a lot about their marketing goals:

– How exactly are they leveraging a podcaster’s celebrity with host-read ads?

– How big of a role do podcast ads play in your competitors’ media mix?

– What can we infer about their ICP, and the demographics they're courting?

With the new feature, you’ll gain visibility into spend and impressions for ads run on all podcast platforms across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia — as well as insights into which podcasts run specific ads, if the host reads it, first/last seen date, and more.

One thing that makes podcasts stand out as an advertising channel is how closely linked they are to specific audiences. This data allows you to form a clearer picture of the exact customer niches your competitors are after. A brand advertising on Facebook doesn't tell you much about their specific goals. But when it comes to podcasts, the acquisition strategy is clearer. For instance, are they running creatives on a young adult financial advice podcast? A dating podcast geared towards middle-aged women? This is actionable information.

Podcast Ads Creatives - Joe Rogan

The creative gallery gives you a granular look at the metrics for each ad. Here's one for LifeLock, read by Joe Rogan.

Before diving into the data yourself, here’s a preview of some recent stats gleaned from the platform (2026 YTD, United States, unless otherwise specified):

  • A higher portion of ad spend has gone to Podcast ads than to Desktop Video, Mobile Display, ChatGPT, Reddit, or X.

  • The top three US podcast advertisers are Deutsche Telekom (majority owner of T-Mobile US), Amazon.com, and clothing brand Quince, who together account for ~6.4% of total spend.

  • Top-spending brands represent a diverse range of verticals, including but not limited to: cars, furniture, fast food, betting apps, telehealth, and insurance. Overall, the highest-spending categories are Shopping, Financial Services, and Health & Wellness.

  • Game studios utilize podcast ads as well! The top three are WWE 2K26, June’s Journey, and MLB The Show 26.

  • Spend on podcast ads has gone up 12% period-over-period (2026 YTD). So far, September has been the month when brands spent the most on podcast ads. March comes in second place.

  • The most expensive podcast creative released this year was a 50-second spot on the Joe Rogan Experience, read by — you guessed it — Joe Rogan. The ad is for LifeLock, an identity theft protection service, and peaked at 18M daily impressions.
